Hello from DUK Richmond and Twickenham Group
You are invited an OPEN MEETING

On: Diabetes UK’s Recent Research Projects
With: Claire Lubbock and Ruth Szotten, Diabetes UK London Region
Claire and Ruth will bring us up to date on developments in some of the projects that we have adopted recently. There will be a Q&A session.
All are welcome. Light refreshments will be provided. A donation of £1 towards running costs is suggested.
The AGM was held on 17 February 2015
Alastair Mackinlay gave the chair’s report [see February newsletter].
Bob Watford gave the treasurer’s report. He presented the accounts for 2014.We made a surplus of receipt over expenses of £522.17. We have a cash balance of £2860.62. We can transfer at least £1000.00 to Diabetes UK research or other projects but have yet to choose.
Trisha Shirt reported on the new look website which has just gone “live” . Please visit it at www.dukrt.org.uk and let her have feedback including ideas for inclusion.

Our guest Speaker, Helen Church told us about the current provision of diabetes care in Richmond by Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare Trust. A report will be given in our next newsletter.
DATES FOR YOUR 2015 DIARY
The meeting on 14 April will be addressed by Mary McLaren of Healthwatch Richmond. She will explain how that organisation promotes patients’ interests in Richmond and in particular what it can do for people with diabetes.
Further meetings will be held on 12 May, 16 June, 14 July, 15 September &13 October. The topics will be announced in due course but firstly on our new website at www.DUKRT.org.uk

Ann Jones is selling second-hand books, CDs and DVDs to raise funds for our group. You can support her initiative by buying from her at open meetings or from our stall at the local fairs and by offering items you no longer need but which others may appreciate.
